    Yes, I've tried doing that, it doesn't seem to work for me.

    Hmm.. then there's a possibility you may have removed the necessary line of code. Add this into the template wherever you want the homepage message to show up :

    Code:
    <!-- BEGIN message_admin_index -->
    <div class="main">
       <!-- BEGIN message_admin_titre -->
       <div class="main-head">
          <h1 class="page-title">{message_admin_index.message_admin_titre.MES_TITRE}</h1>
       </div>
       <!-- END message_admin_titre -->

       <!-- BEGIN message_admin_txt -->
       <div id="pun-announcement">
          <p>{message_admin_index.message_admin_txt.MES_TXT}</p>
       </div>
       <!-- END message_admin_txt -->
    </div>
    <!-- END message_admin_index -->

    I noticed that the template you posted is the index_box, have you modified the index_body template ? If so, make sure to include the HTML code I posted in that template. Afterwards proceed to adding a homepage message via Display > Generalities.
