I added the SCM Music Player a few days ago to my forum and it was working swimmingly. I was adding tons of songs and the forum seemed to be handling it fine. Then today I attempted to add some more and the forum was rejecting my additions. It did not state why, but I assume it's because I was exceeding a character limit of some sort. Just to clarify: how many characters are allowed in a widget? (For note's sake, there were 53416 characters in my most recent working widget and 61345 in the submission that didn't work. Yes, that's a lot of songs. )

Re: Character Limit for Widgets?
When you save the widget and then edit it again, are the new additions still there?

Re: Character Limit for Widgets?
6000 is the limit most likely, the limit in a post is 6000 I believe so it would make sense.

I cannot save the widget with that many characters. I get a blank page with no message and it appears as though the site has crashed. I have to click the back button to undo my edit and get back to a functioning page.

I was able to get over 50,000 characters, though. It was maybe causing the site to load a bit slowly when you first open it up, but it still was working without much issue. Maybe 60,000 characters is the limit?
EDIT: This is the site with the player as I have it running currently. Again, the number of characters in the widget is 53416. http://musichub.forumotion.com/

Re: Character Limit for Widgets?
Okay it seems the limit in messages is 65,000. Also, the limit in HTML pages is also 65,000, if either of those apply. Are you sure you had 61345 words before submitting?

This is what it says when I paste the code into Letter Counter.
Here is the screen after I click "Save" with the 61,000 character code.
Then when I go to the website, everything is clustered to the side as shown here:
And when I go back to the administration panel, this is what it looks like:

Re: Character Limit for Widgets?
When you click save and it does that, try clicking refresh. You should get a "resend" popup I believe.

I do, and the same blank screen pops up.

Try saving it without adding anything, does the same thing happen?

Do you mean with the code I have now? (53,000 characters) It saves just fine and the forum loads without issue.

Re: Character Limit for Widgets?
Can you please try saving it with 60,000 characters?

Alright, saving it with 60,000 characters works, but saving it with 60,001 does not. There's your limit, I guess.

Re: Character Limit for Widgets?
If you are getting a blank page when you save this means the codes you are using is not right.
if you hit the limits then it will cut your code to fit the limit
to see the limits read here https://help.forumotion.com/t1709-some-limits-of-forumotion-forum

The code is structured fine, it's just that when it apparently exceeds the character limit (which appears to be 60,000), the site doesn't handle it correctly.

Re: Character Limit for Widgets?
If it works with 60,000 but not 60,001 then 60,000 is likely the limit unless there is just something wrong withbthe system.
The limits to forumotion topic needs a lot of updating.

Re: Character Limit for Widgets?
APE is correct. When you reach the limit, the whole code would not be erased. It will only show the limit that is reached.
When you are entering the code, are using the WYSIWYG mode?
