Inverted Images from Apple devices Empty Inverted Images from Apple devices

Post by TimV June 13th 2016, 5:01 pm

    Hey,

Sorry if this has been covered elsewhere - I have searched but not yet found another thread covering this.

When members of my forum upload 'portrait' images from their Apple devices, these are inverted on the forum when viewed on a pc. If viewing on an Apple device, they appear the correct way round. Is there a setting that I need to tick/change to fix this?

Thanks in advance of your help.

    Hello.

Please read this thread >> https://help.forumotion.com/t147318-photos-sideways#1014942

    To quote,

Leviosa wrote:Well, actually the EXIF data is an update. It is very useful, a lot of photographers were waiting for this but I can understand that other need a bit of time to accommodate with these changes

This is a common thing. You may want to open the file in a free photo editing software (probable MSPaint for Windows), and then Save it as either JPEG, PNG, etc.

    Hope this response helps.

Poser - thanks for that. Read through the thread, however asking folks to save the image in a separate programme, invert it, etc is all a bit of a faff imo. Think I'll just suggest that people take photographs in landscape mode!!
