In progress How to "uncheck" a profile radio box?

Post by FiskBlack July 31st 2016, 1:42 am

    Hello guys,

I'm playing with the profile fields and I am adding a sort of special "user level" system for admin, mods and other type of users, and for that, I'm using the Profile function Images List, and it works quite nicely but, I don't see a way to "uncheck" a radio box, lets say for some reason I want to disable the "user level" for that profile, I'm unable to do so.

Here is an image of the current test phase.

Purging the status in the admin panel wouldn't be the most wise choice.

    Thank you for your help.

You need to make a Blank icon as there is no other way to do this Sad

I use this code and place it at the top of the list
    Code:

Good idea APE, its not the perfect solution but, it works! The use of an empty gif did not cross my mind earlier.

But still, a way to "uncheck" the radio box would be very handy.

    Thank you.

Are these ranks?  If yes, why are you not using the rank system?

Yes they are a replacement, since I want those members to still get their star levels when posting. I was able to come up with a code to add multiple ranks using CSS using THIS tutorial, some reading HERE, some googling and lots of trial and error but, in the end, special ranks still kills the rank system for the user, so it was not useful at all.
Here is a sample of the code I "upgraded" but did not use, it might be useful for someone, the visual was really nice (please follow the original tutorial for using this code):
    Sample:

The way I am right now, I can have multiple ranks, special ranks and still have the rank system working for everyone in the forum.

I thought about duplicating the rank system, but since I'm no programmer and I do not have access to plugins or ftp, I quit that.

See the image below, the admin has two ranks set, for fun, the special rank is Forum God and my custom rank is Admin, and the following user has no special ranks, for now (hes helping me test stuff, I'll add a beta tester rank latter), If I set one of my custom ranks, he will still be able to level up the normal system.

You want this to be "un-checked", right?

Yes, that's the idea, lets say I demoted the user from junior mod to no rank at all, I'd like to have an option do just uncheck the radial button instead of having to set it to a transparent 1x1 gif.

You are going to have to create a choose for no rank.

Ace 1, I have allowed users to edit that field for now, is that what you need to test?

SLGray, I actually already did something like that, just like APE suggested but, having a way to do this "officially", lets put it this way, would be really nice.
