    Solved Is it possible to change the url?

    Just a quick question I have a forum that is several years old and I want to change the name of the forum inc the url ie from http://XXXXXyour-talk.com to http://YYYYYyour-talk.com its a forumotion url not one I have bought. If it is possible to change it what are the possible problems I may face with Google and any other indexing

    Well, one major thing would be that search engines will have to index your forum (old topics) again since all the links will be changed.  People will still be able to reach your forum from search engines, but it will take time for the new forum link to appear in searches.

    So it is possible? I'm not worried about the existing topics as I intend to delete them, I just thought as its a forum not used I should use that instead of creating a new one? what is your advice on that? would I be better to create a new forum or use my old forum? My existing forum started in 2009

    It is up to you.  I would just use the old one.

    AP > General > Forum > Forum Address
