Profile Field Management

This seems like a very basic question but I have been searching the forums for a while and not found and answer.

I am just trying to figure out how to manage profile categories. I changed the names of and content of a couple of fields and added one but now 2 are not visible. Not sure what broke.

The fields I am having trouble with are:

Added 'your gender' field. It shows up but I cant figure out how to make a icon toggle like the 'student gender' field.

'Student age', and 'current student residence' are not showing up.

Sorry for us to help you we need to have the right to see your forum and its profile settings

as guests can't see your forum we can not see what we need to see.

Is there a quick way to give guest full access or can i set up an admin account for you?

I opened up access to one of the forums but I dont know how to allow guest access to profiles or profile management.

Yes, I have been through all of those topics and none address the issues I am having. Attached are some screen shots that illustrate the issue.

Does it appear when you are looking at the profile that loads when you press the username link?

Also there is a missing option in your screenshot of the setup page. There should be one above the field title.

No, 'Student age', and 'current student residence' are not showing up when the name is clicked.

I'm not sure what you mean by 'a missing option'. Is this a bug? Please clarify.

BTW, is there any way to get paid expert help on this? I have been hammering on it for hours to no avail and am willing to compensate to solve this problem. I am also an experienced and highly placed graphic artist and 3d animator if anyone wants to trade services.

Ok i think this may help

On your profile settings on the ACP click on the ones that are not showing and do the following and see if they come up.

at the bottom of each profile setting there is a button called Replace the content this right at the bottom of the profile setting's

press that and see if your settings have been added to your profiles.

sometimes the system don't add new profiles until you do this.

I am not seeing 'Replace the content' setting in my interface.

I tried creating a new profile field and it wont let me at all. It just keeps saying "Some fields are invalid' no matter what I set things to.

In your screenshot that contains 3 things, you have an image list (field type), not a text field.

you have to fill in all of your items then save it then go back to the one you just saved and then it will be there.

It will not show until you save it.

That is a new profile you have in that screen shot you have to give it a name before you can save it

Hello i have looked over your profile settings and i have seen you have made a lot of change to the settings.

What I'm not sure of is why you changed the main settings for the zodiac but still i can tell you why this will not work.

You changed the name of the zodiac setting and our system will look for that name on our servers and marry it up with the year and date of birth on your account and then add the right one to your account.

As you have changed the name of the profile settings it will no longer find your zodiac settings as its no longer the right name.

so making the change to the name has made the setting no longer work.

ok for problem 2
we don't have a basic setting to toggle on the profile settings Sorry.

Ok, got it. It seems like the profile items are a lot more customizable than they actually are without knowing how to code. I have spent a good bit of time searching this board for information and haven't found anything on creating a custom predefined list field. I just made text fields to suffice for now. In the future I would like to customize this. Could you recommend a way to find someone familiar with the way the code system works on this board I could hire to help?

Yes, I have been sent that message before. Its just that the level of customization I am looking for is beyond my skillset and I was hoping to get some expert help and a complete solution. I very much appreciate your, and everyone's input. I have a better grasp of what it takes to do what I want, but still have no clear idea on how to actually do it. Why is it not reasonable to request compensated help here? I would be happy to trade my graphic services if that is more appropriate. I do not have time to learn the programming skills necessary to implement what I want to do.
