I just woke up so bare with me, as this is the fourth time I've had to fix it.

My forum's posts keep getting extra BBCode tags put in, and extra spacing lines. What the hell is going on? I'm tired of it! I don't like my forum spacing my posts out and FORCING parts of it into Italics!

Is it only happening to certain posts or all posts? If certain posts, do these posts have ALOT of bbcode in it? When these posts are being made, did the poster use the 'preview' feature or anything before actually posting it? Finally, is this the forum in question: http://alciem.forumotion.com/ ?

Ok and do the posts these happen on have alot of bbcode in them?

Only reason I ask is because I think sometimes if a post has alot of different bbcode tags things can mess up. Particularily if it has alot of bbcode and you use 'preview' mode or make edits to it or something.

I had something similar to your issue happen to me when I was writing a tutorial on bbcodes for my users on my forum, when I finished it all, I hit preview by mistake, but everything seems fine on the preview, went to send it. When it was send I noticed it had added a few extra 'italic' tags or end tags. These extra tags were not needed and would show up in the tutorial. I edited the post and removed them all. Everytime anything is edited on the post though, it happens again, so usually I have to edit that post twice if I edit it, once for the actual edit and a second time to remove all the extra tags.

Not sure why this happens, but I think if there is alot of bbcode in a post, I think the system sometimes gets confused. Now I dont know if the preview button specificly does anything to cause this, but it may be possible. If you hit preview, it will show you the preview, but the editor will still come up as well. So maybe it is possible if there is a ton of bbcode in the post and the system either gets confused or for some reason thinks an end tag wasnt added or something, it goes and adds all these extra, un needed tags.

Again I am not sure specificly if any of this is what causes this to happen or if this is even what is happening your case, but I figured I would share my suspicions and what happened to me one time.


With regards to your issue though, I am not sure why this might be happening, but if it is only happening to a specific post and is not happening to any other posts or topics, then it might just that the post has too much bbcode or something that is causing the system to get confused or go nuts or something and thus adding the extra bbcodes. I would say if it is only one specific post, then it probably something bbcode wise that has to do with how that post was made and is isolated to that post, then it is not a cause for concern.
