    Solved Forum permissions

Post by NeonSynth November 28th 2016, 8:05 pm

    Why hello there,

I have questions about forum and usergroup permissions - if the topic is in the wrong category, please move it somewhere else!

    1. I have a user group for banned people, "Outcasts". Well, from a technical point they're not banned. They're supposed to have only access to a certain subforum, in which they can talk/apologize/etc to the staff. The problem with obscuring the rest of the forum for them is that, in order to make them only see that certain subforum, I'd have to remove the "Members" permission from seeing every other forum aswell. Is there a work-around other than making another user group in which I have to move new users to every time?

    2. I have user groups which have only access to certain sub forums. "A" can see sub forum "SUB A" and "B" can see "SUB B" for example. But let's say a certain user in "B" is also supposed to have access to "SUB A". Am I supposed to add the person also to "A"? In addition, user from "B" should still have the online legend color from "B" despite being in "A" too, is there any priority in memberships or something?

    Thanks in advance!

EDIT: Also a lil' off topic question, is there a way to have a sub forum not increase your post count?

    Edit Question:  Yes

AP > Modules > Points & Reputation > Points System
    Points Management Tab
Set the values to 0 for the subforum.

Ah I actually meant post count, not points. Thanks though. Razz

If I understand the other 2 question correctly, it is not possible with the default option.

Then for the first question, I gotta make a usergroup which I move new users into every time, oh well.

As for the second question, if an user is in 2 groups with 2 different online legend colours, which group/color has the higher priority in terms of online colour?

The order of the groups determines that.
