Post by Bellatrix Twist February 4th 2017, 7:42 am

My forum is loading really slow, it's not my interent connection as I have a new hub fitted. It takes ages to load and same for logging in as well, it was fine yesterday but really slow today.

Hope it can get fixed soon.

I've done all that and is still slow, but I am wanting to somehow put my forum under the radar for spammers as I've had tons of them recently and it's bad but there should be a way to ban hostnames but doesn't show how to do that either.

Hello your forum is running ok to me but as its not open to guests i can test this when seeing the full forum.

As for banning hosts well sorry there is no way to ban hosts but you can ban a set IP address but you risk loosing lots of members this way.

but if you want to ban a set ip you can do it like this

Go to ACP >> Users & Groups Tab >> Users >> Ban Control >> Ban an Ip address >>
IP addresses or hostnames : type in the users IP address and then ban it
then do the same again but remove the last number so if the Ip address was
    12.334.45 type in 12.334.*

the real host ban is then you ban a name of a host ISP but we don't have that system on this forum sorry.

Now what this dose is bans all IP addresses that start with the numbers 12.334.

Those doesn't help as they have came back again, what happens if the IP is something like: 202.189.304 or even if it's something like this: 8.21.198. 6 < how to ban an IP like that?

To ban this one 202.189.304 do it like this 202.189.* and the same with the other one just remove the last numbers and add the star it then range bans the ip address.

other then that you can not ban the host it's self sorry.

    Hello,

A week has passed and no news of the complainant, so I consider this problem to be resolved.

In any case, the analysis of your forum does not show any problem.

If you continue to have the same problem, do not hesitate to open a new topic

    Thank's
