    In progress Insecure log-in (again)

Post by jkh March 14th 2017, 5:18 pm

    First topic message reminder :

    Hi everyone

I refer once again to my previous topic which was locked and garbaged before I'd finished with it.

I have had many enquiries from members of my forum concerned about security issues.

I purchased the required credits to obtain the SSL certificate - and am still waiting for the credits to appear in the Admin Panel.

However, I note this forum isn't https and you still have the red padlock thingy and insecure warning.

I have looked at this Tutorial and it scares me to death that something will go wrong if/when I'm able to change over to https.

You will get the SSL certificate, but your pages with http links will not be considered secure by your browser.
So, just to make sure I fully understand before I hit the spend credits button....the links will still work but they won't be considered secure.

There seems to be no reason, then, not to go ahead and get the SSL certificate?

    I do not have Chrome.

Is this happening on a certain page or on the homepage/index?

It might be best to have a thread about this.

I've just bought the SSL certificate and the only thing that seems to be missing at the moment is the live feedjit traffic, which is a shame. I've just gone on to their site and all their codes seem to be http.

At the moment I can't say I like the change. I had a widget that showed how many likes I'd had on facebook and that's now been returned to zero from over 3k.

Yes.  After you purchase the SSL certificate, you will get more options.

I've had a few teething problems which I'm managing to sort out - re-doing links that are in my CSS Stylesheet and in my javascript code management.

There's been a bit of lag when some pages are loading.

I also get this when I try to add an image or even edit a previous post - is there any way to sort this niggle out please?

    Hello

This have no connection to the SSL. If you get a captcha when editing or sending a message, this means that the content of the message is considered by our antispam system to be suspicious...

This is a normal behavior that exists natively on all our Forumotion forums
