As the title says. Why is there a restriction on CSS code? This seriously bugs me, as I can't further improve the appearance of the forum.

As I am not sure why they have a restriction on the length of the sheet, but I face the same problem with my own forum and therefore use other means to putting CSS on my site via JavaScript and header template. You could possibly do the same thing.

That'd be horrible..but I guess it will be the only way if all else fails.

Yes, I tested the software @SLGray posted and it brings your current CSS lines from 4,071 to 3,666. You should be able to successfully place the minimized version on your site.
