What fonts are actually allowed to be used for our forums? and do we need codes to use for the ones that arent allowed?

i think the usual fonts we have are these
Arial,Verdana,Tahoma,sans-serif,Courier,'CourierNew',Helvetica

yes you need a code 
the font that you will add has to be on your members' computer for it to appear for them

I can tell you all basic font's can be used but as already said by skouliki if you want to install any other fonts you will have to use a code and the fonts will only show up if your members have them installed on their own computer for it to show.

Use Google Fonts. They are wonderful and there are hundreds to use. It even shows and gives you the codes to use them properly on your site. I even use quite a bit.
