    In progress icons

Post by Bignuggs May 18th 2017, 1:08 pm

The icons for my forum have disappeared and it's got me baffled. it's the icons for read, unread posts and they used to be at the bottom of the home page to show what the icons meant. They were also in the forum topics to show read or new posts. How do I switch them back on ?
I'm wondering if it's my new computer which has the new generation motherboards and only supports Windows10. even the icons for this post don't show so I can't upload a jpeg.

Hi, sounds like your img host has fried. Did you check their site? Like they're having any kind of 'outage' of some sort (like maintenance) for a certain period? It happens with me once or twice a year. Just asking.

I've only just noticed that the "Post new Topic" and "Reply" buttons have also gone. Damned if I know but I'll log into servimg and see what happens.
I've tried using my laptop which has windows 8 and all the icons and buttons are there. It surely has something to do with windows 10 settings but I have no idea where to make the changes required.

I'm using Opera on Windows 10 right now and I can see all the icons fine.. What browser are you using?
For now try clearing the cache on your main browser, and maybe try downloading other browsers to see if the problem persists on them as well.

Surprise surprise. I've been using Firefox, it used to be a good browser but now seems it won't work properly. I just tried Chrome and the new Edge browser and all the icons and buttons are there.
Goodbye Firefox, you are now useless.
Thanks for the help but I guess this is now solved, I hope.

    Cheers to All

Ok, just followed the Firefox instructions for clearing the cache, closed Firefox down and then reopened it. Opened my forum and the icons and buttons are still gone.
    What next ?

Glad to hear it works! ^^ Yeah, Firefox has been going through some weird updates and maintenances that cause issues on their browser..
Maybe there's an update for Firefox that you may have missed? If not, then try clearing the cache, closing the browser, and then right-clicking it and running as Admin and see if it fixes the bug. c:
If all that fails, then "Goodbye Firefox, you are now useless." xD

Edit: Try using this site's "Check image permissions for a specific website" section as well

Thanks for the replies to my problem but it now appears I will have to use Chrome or the new Edge.
Just did a restart again and the icons and buttons still aren't there and I do have Firefox set for Automatic updates. But, I wonder if it has something to do with the fact that Firefox don't support Java, silverlight and I can't remember the other thing.
    Goodby Firefox.

Hmm that's very odd since Ape was able to see the buttons fine and he uses Firefox.. Maybe Firefox is being selective with its bugs again Laughing

Interesting Valoish. What version Firefox are they using ? I downloaded the new version which I think is the problem.
The old version on my laptop works fine.

I'm not too sure, you'd have to ask @Ape. It could be the new version, but let's find out which version ape has before jumping to conclusions

To find out what firefox you are using do the following
open your browser and click help in your editor at the top of your browser then click about Firefox it should be 53.0.2 if it's new
    icons 1q110
if you need a update it will update it's self when you open that setting

Now if you are having problems with that new firefox try UN-installing firefox and then install it again.

Not sure why you can't see some buttons if you have the new firefox but please try and remove it from your computer and then see if it works again when you install it again.
