    Solved Servimg Hosting

Post by sinbadthebad Mon Jun 12, 2017 5:11 pm

    Hello
Some of my members are complaining the the Servimg hosting service is not working as it should.
When the host image icon is pressed, a dialogue pop-up is displayed asking for the members password and directing them to the Servimg website asking them to log in and subscribe, they say that when they try to log in their passwords are rejected......what's going on ?
    Your assistance is required please.
    Thanks

    Hello,

May you ask your member to provide a screenshot of the problem?

May you also ask them to try clearing their browser cache and cookies to see if this may solve the problem?

This is affecting at least three of my members, including my moderator.
    Here is a screenshot
The bottom line in the box reads...
    Subscribe--I forgot my password
When you click on the link it takes you here "https://servimg.com/images.php"
And yes it happens on different machines and different browsers.
They tell me that they have cleared their browser cache and deleted the forum cookies.

Hmm weird, I thought I may have seen this before, so I did a search and sure enough I found this topic https://help.forumotion.com/t145304-servimg-password-does-not-work . It seems like it requires pro admin intervention. I am not sure though because @Ape was the one who seemed to have handled all the issues with this last time. I am gonna wait for either him or @Shadow to reply, before marking this pro admin.

    Hi there,

The only thing I see is that your member forum login and servimg have been disconnected. As you may know, your servimg profile is created with the mail adress you use when you register on a forum, and the same password. There might have been a disconnection between both profiles, and that's why they get an issue to post pictures with servimg. In that case we're definitely sorry for the inconvenience :rose:

They shoud try to login on https://servimg.com with the adress mail they have on your forum and their password.
Let us know if this works Wink

Yes I did eventually realise this and I have told the members

This is one of the replies I got back
I have logged onto the https://servimg.com page directly from my computer, rather than via the forum, but it automatically changes to https://servimg.com/images.php in the address box – which is the URL that all the image links are prefixed with. Hence if you had opened one of my image posts – you would have seen that https://servimg.com/images.php prefixes the link. It does not mean that I logged on with that URL.

So one member logged into Servimg (directly), but the link in the browser changed after logging in?

P.S. Please do not use color text. Also use the multi-quote button so you do not have to double post.

When the url changes, does any images appear? Also can your member upload images directly from the servimg site after the url changes?

I have no idea Brandon, my member is heartily sick of the problem and trying to effect a solution, he has to insert his new password in the pop up box each time he posts an image, and says he will just have to live with it .... along with the other affected members who have the same problem.
The problem lies squarely with Servimg and it is they who should be resolving the situation globally.

Well it isnt everyone having the issue, so it isnt actually a global issue, but it is an issue that can be resolved if our team has the info we need.

Like you see in the other thread, this problem has occured before (but not for a long time), there is a way to solve it. Its just it hasnt appeared in so long our team needs all the info they can get to resolve the issue or get servimg to resolve the issue.

If your member wants the issue resolved, then please ask them to say whether they can see images on this new page and whether they can upload images from it. If they dont want this resolved, then you can mark this topic solved and we will close it.

We understand that issue is frustating, but if your member could be a bit patient and provide all the info possible, I am sure we can get to the bottom of this problem and get it resolved.
