The legacy of JScript! Empty The legacy of JScript!

Post by Daemon Sat 21 Apr - 6:29

I know this is a very delicate subject and only a few will remember the great person that João Carlos (JScript) was ... It's been a little more than a year since we lost our dear friend JScript, and I miss him so much ... I'm sure he would have done many other great deeds these days.

He built a legacy and developed codes that are still used today. And to remind our dear friend, in memory of him I would like to ask them which code of him you found the most fantastic !?

Particularly I found the Shoutbox similar to the IPB that he developed little by little.

I've been inactive for some time around here and maybe that's the time he is here. I do know that JScript is a friendly and talented person. Smile

I feel sad, since we didn't talk much around. Sad

Sadly I found his participation here and his codes too late, he was already passed away.. I think he made awesome scripts and I would loved to use his scripts for the shoutbox and chatbox with the editing features, but the codes were no longer available for download.. To me they seemed absolutely fabulous!! So I think he will be missed by so many people.. RIP JScript Sad

He seemed like a very great guy indeed. The only script I used by one him, is one I still on my forum today. The regular select a code button wouldn't work on my forum correctly since it is phpbb2, so developed a new select code button that works on phpbb2 as well. I was very thankful for that.

Unfortunatelly, while I was here activelly while he was on here, me and him didn't all agree on some things on the support forum and we never had a chance to work out those small differences. I am regretful of that and I am thankful for all the wonderful codes he has made for Forumotion forums and I hope those codes will continue to be used for years to come.

    Rest in peace, JScript. Sad

It was definitely the staff chatbox -- the idea of using a topic as a database was pretty ingenious and it even inspired me to try out that idea on a few projects back in the day. He also gave me some advice while I was working on those projects, which helped me out a lot in the long run. JScript was a helluva programmer and a great person.

Thank you all for the messages of affection. I'm sure he would love to read them all. I remember as if it was yesterday the day he arrived at my old forum, not knowing anything about Forumotion, and not knowing anything about Web language. And with only 1 month, he started doing some things that amazed me a lot. Hahahahah...
Then I called him to be ADM in my old forum and then the great friend and master JScript was born!
