Part of email address's are all hidden

I just noticed while checking new member's registering, part of their email is missing. I checked several long time members and it's the same for them as well.

This is our forum contact email. All emails have three *** covering part of their email.



Is this something that was changed, and how to I get it back to show the whole email?

Yes, indeed. This is something new. There are some changes made in the European laws about the personal data protection regulations, this had to be done to all forums and to all members.

Now about sending emails, you can still send your members email, using their profile email icon to send an email via the forum. There's not really a reason why we, as admins, should see everyone's full email.

Can we still ban an email as admin?

For me I like to see the whole email. Often times I can tell if an email looks fake, and I won't activate an account. Or if part of it has an unacceptable word, I add it to the censor list to prevent any future emails with those words.

I will wait for a response to @skouliki 's question and confirmation that this doesn't prohibit any admin's capabilities.

Sadly you will not see the full Email address any more as this is the new data act law and all sites that take data to use on sites have to have this.

Sadly this is now world wide and nothing can be done about it.

Now as for the Email address banning system well I am not sure yet how this will work as we have not been told anything as this is still a new system that is getting made but we will have updates on it soon.

ok Update lol i know fast working on updates from me.

When you go in your ACP and go to ban a member go to
ACP >> Users & Groups tab >> Users >> Ban Control >> click " Ban Email address" type in the username you want to ban and press SEARCH the members name will then be found and the Email address will show.

Thanks for the explanation. Canada has gone through the Privacy Act rules and implemented a lot of changes several years ago, however it did not include encrypted email address.
