member tagged in topic

i have a member who would like to be tagged in a certain topic however the box in her profile to check is grayed out and she cannot check it ..is there something i have to do as forum owner?

Hi,

Did you allow username tags on the Admin Panel ?

If not then, try to activate it.
ACP(Admin Control Panel) > General > Messages and e-mails > Configuration > Messages > Allow usernames tags : All members > then save it.

it's already set to all members

I think with the tag feature you can only recieve notification via the toolbar, not for email. I believe that is why it is grayed out under email column.

so is this not possible at all?

To send a notification via email when tagged, no. To recieve a notification in the toolbar is possible though.

ok done but now what does the member need to do so she is tagged in a topic?

Just tick the box for 'when my username is tagged' in their profile. It is in the same spot as you were shosing before (that was grayed out), but its under the 'toolbar' column.
