Solved Squished Avatar??

Post by Salrynn on July 31st 2018, 1:50 pm

Hello Smile

I hope to not be much bother ^^ But I do have a small issue, and it's setting me off really bad LOL

It concerns this site and concerns this lovely screenshot. The site is phpbb2. Smile

The avatar seems to be seriously squished, and I don't know how to fix it O.o so here I am xD

Is there anything to fix this? Anything is good as long as it doesn't set me or any other future members off (which probably doesn't make sense) ^^ Thanks in advance.

Hi there @Salrynn,

Firstly you should check the maximum avatar file size you can do this by going to ACP -> Display -> Avatar Gallery -> Maximum Avatar File Size or set the pixel size ACP -> Display -> Personal Avatar

Solved Re: Squished Avatar??

Ooh this was quick! I likey.

I have set the avatars to be 200x350. I have seen this done on another site, and it had the same dimensions more or less, yet the avatar wasn't squished at all, it was reduced but looked more clear and non-squishy.

So I have to reduce the avatar size?? :O

Just try changing the dimensions and see if it makes an improvement. Is it squished for a number of users or just one specific person?

Edit: I have just checked your forum and a user named Sally (Matching the profile picture in your first post) seems to have a perfect avatar size.

hi
just add this code to your css to give some space like the image is showing

Code:

.forumline .row1, .forumline .row2, .forumline .row3, .forumline .row3Right {
    padding: 2px 10px;
}

So, When I tried changing the dimensions to make them much smaller, it did absolutely nothing at all, in fact, it didn't even change the size of the avatar when shown on the sidebar of my posts. Which was strange O.o

I am currently the only member on the site so far, since I am still building it. I do however, switch computers quite frequently, since I go to a place where there are public computers, and they still looked squishy even then.

(sorry if the way I am explaining it is confusing, by the way, lol)

Oooooohhhh... Urm, I see we're talking about different things O_O!

It may be a problem on your end, after you changed the dimensions it had been working ever since for me. Try clearing your browser cache as Skouliki suggested, that should do the trick Wink :rose:

I have made an account on your forum and viewed the PFP from both my personal account settings and from the user list and I get the same result, a perfect sized avatar. Have you tried using Internet Explorer?
