Accidentally cleaned out my inbox
I was logged onto vgchat and I was doing something and I accidentally cleared out my entire inbox from 70% full when I thought I was deleting some certain types of messages and I accidentally deleted the whole thing. I didn't know the whole thing was marked. Just those messages of me and another member playing a game. Can you please help? And the admin hasn't been on for over 6 months. Since late July!

Hello,
If you clicked "Yes" to the "Are you sure?" message. then I am afraid there is no turning back for the messages. Sorry.
Regards.

I thought I only selected Delete Marked. And I didn't mean to like your post either. I have a touch screen. Is there any way to undo that too? I thought I selected what I selected, and in the end, it's not what I thought, and earlier today, my Sent box was 100% full. I thought it could hold more than 25 messages.

The export option is only for exporting. There is not a way to import it back.

Re: Accidentally cleaned out my inbox
Hello @J-Master1
SLGary is 100% right if you delete any inbox on a forum there is NO backup for this.
It don't matter if you talk to SLGray me or the ones at the head office we will all say the same thing.
You can't Import after the forum has been set up
Our exporting system is only there to give you your profile data and that's it.
Sadly There is nothing we can do to help you on this matter no matter how hard you try. SORRY

Re: Accidentally cleaned out my inbox
It was already exported. Please help me.
Ok! Please help! As soon as I was reading my pms, the language for some reason automatically turned to Arabic. I wanted to delete some, but I couldn't understand what they were saying, and that's how I accidentally deleted all instead of just the few I wanted. Inform the admin of this glitch please.

Re: Accidentally cleaned out my inbox
You have to use the tools of Forumotion to make a backup to a date before deleting and recover your PM.

Re: Accidentally cleaned out my inbox
Hi,
In regards to the language changing on it's own, I have never heard of this happening. Do you have any codes, particularly that translate on your forum? A problem like that could easily be the result of a script.
I only ask cause while I believe you that it happened, I have never heard or seen anything like that happen in all my years using Forumotion.

Re: Accidentally cleaned out my inbox
I told you a different forum. This is for latiaswebs now.
I'm telling you it's unfair. When you go to select either option, it says the same thing. So there is no difference between you selecting Delete Marked and Delete All. This needs to be changed so users know which one they clicked.

Re: Accidentally cleaned out my inbox
If you are NOT the founder then you can not make a backup of the forum and you can not get the password to the tools.
also note we have a problem with our backup tools right now so it is not advised you even try and do a backup on any part of your forum right now.

What is the forum you want to get the PM's back on and are YOU the founder of that forum ?
Please DON'T list other forums we just want to know about the forum you have deleted the PM's from.

Actually vgchat where I'm signed in at and no! But if I wanted to try to see how it works, I'd say latiaswebs.

Re: Accidentally cleaned out my inbox
NO NO don't list other forums we are just talking about the forum you have the problem with forget the one you just listed.
If you are NOT the founder of that forum then we CAN'T help you.
if you want to do this on your own site then you can BUT it is of really high risk as it will backup all your forum and can mess up everything you have done in the last days or weeks.
To get the messages back you will need to do a full backup on the Forum Utilities you will need to click this link
Forum Utilities once logged in you just have to follow this short video made by me
Don't leave the page until it's done
Then you need to make a new backup the same way but use the first date listed in the list.
NOTE: Please note this will remove all members banned on your site it will also delete your staff members on your forum and you may loose post and new members on your forum.
also you will not be the only one getting your PM's back everyone will get deleted PM back.
You do this at your OWN RISK.
