Solved Member Unable To Upload Using Servimg

Post by cassini April 26th 2019, 5:06 pm

    Hello Smile

One of my members pmd me saying they were unable to upload using Servimg today at 11:20 GMT.

I had noticed that Servimg was running very slow at 07:40 GMT, however I done some post tests at 13:30 GMT with no problems but my main contributor is still unable to upload using Servimg.

    Regards

    hello @cassini

we currently have some problems connecting to some databases that can cause slowdowns or even connection problems as well as maintenance pages. it is therefore normal that he encounters difficulties to upload his images.

but this is temporary and only concerns some users. at the time I write these lines I can upload without problems my images on Servimg

as soon as we finish our maintenance everything should be fine for all users

@cassini in order to be able to understand the problem, please ask the concerned member to provide us with :

    1. the url of an image he has already succeeded in hosting on the servimg account that is now having the problem
    2. the image that causes the error in the screenshot by hosting it on a file sharing service such as WeTransfer
    3. the url of his profile on the forum where he can't upload the image

May I suggest to make the member a second account which can be used by him/her for testing, just to see if he/she is able to upload to servimg in that account? If that works than his/her first account on servimg is corrupted for some unknown reason, if it doesn't work than staff can rule out that the problem is at servimg's end..

    Hello Smile

Just to say that the member who cannot upload pictures using Servimg with his account, using the test account they can
upload pictures. It seems that his account has been blocked from using Servimg for some unknown reason.

Thanks to Tonny for the idea Smile

    Hello @cassini

cassini wrote:Here is the link https://reportercaptures.forumotion.com/u35

Oh okay, it's clearer now that I've had his profile! By the way, our friend has reached Servimg account limit by uploading more than 65500 photos ! affraid

From then on, he can no longer use his account to upload images because the account is full.

The only option left is to transform this saturated account into an archive account and start with a new blank account.

For that, the first step, he have to stop the PRO subscription on his current Servimg account via the dedicated button on his Servimg account.

Once this is done, he will have to provide us with an email that he does not use on any Forumotion forum. we will use it as a replacement email for his current Servimg account which is no longer PRO and will become an archive account.

He will still not be able to upload on it anymore but will be able to consult all the images already uploaded by connecting to it from Servimg site with the new email and his usual Servimg password. The images of this account will always appear on the web where they were posted.

After this change, when he will tries to upload a new image to Servimg via his usual account on your forum, the email in his forum account being no longer linked to any Servimg account, a new blank Servimg account will be automatically created and he will be able to upload all the images he wants on it again.

From then on, all he has to do is go to Servimg site, connect with the forum account email and the current password of his forum account to upgrade the Servimg account to PRO again.

When you have all the requested information, please forward it by PM to me or a staff member with a request to forward it to me if my PM are closed and also provide the link to this message as a reminder

Ok Thanks very much The Godfather,

That does explain why he cannot upload anymore, he is one of the most prolific screen capture artists in the UK.
I will pass on your information to him, however I am happy with him using another image uploader.

Perfect, happy to have been able to contribute to finding a solution to your problem.

Nevertheless, given the number of images posted, I advise you to make sure you use Servimg as an image host to avoid any problems. Indeed, we guarantee the functioning of Servimg and have hand on it in terms of maintenance something that we cannot guarantee for external hosts.

And given the way your forum works, the quality and speed of the images posted directly impact the display of your pages so it is better that these images are hosted on our servers than elsewhere... Wink
