Hi

Lately, the forum has changed, any guest posts it show anonymous instead of showing name of the guest

yes that is strange as the posts say guests not the same as the main page.

Have you made any change to your forum before this append ?

Have you tried clicking on the name "Anonymous" to see if that is just how someone named their account rather then it being an error?

you can not click, it 's a guest post

before , it showed guest name

now, it shows Anonymous instead of guest name

Can you link us to the page that you are seeing the "Anonymous" as I was not able to see it when I was viewing the site from my end.

Ok.  The issue is only appearing in the topic list, but not in the post itself.

Correctly, we do not know which guest unless we click to go inside, some people do not know their own posts, they keep thinking Anynoumous is another person

Have you tried turning off any modifications you have added to see if the issue disappears?

I do not even know which one I try, it 's working for years and suddenly changed when I was on my vacation, I never touch modification for a long time

just turn off everything , disable javascript , same result

I am sure system changed it

Have you modified your templates?  If yesm force the default templates.

Have you tried switching forum versions? Before that make sure you saved your skin, images and all...

This may be because of some update on behalf of the company. Before you do any changes to your theme and having to go over all that trouble I'd suggest asking a manager or an Administrator to ask if this is caused due to an update or if it will be this way now after an update. This can easily be a simple error and be fixed easily or it could be something that may have happened after an update. Just saying so you avoid all the trouble of version changing. But first you should try deactivating the javascripts and the templates to see if there are any conflicts with them.

I just disabled everything and test again, still no hope

Don't worry the report was made and i know that we have some small bugs that are getting fixed so this could be linked to them bugs.

we will get news soon as our tech team look at the ticket i have made.

Sadly i can't give a time span on the reply to me back on my ticket as we are really busy right now.

This is nothing new and has existed since the existence of Forumotion.

Unlike topics where we have the information on the guest username, the subforum does not have this information and does not retrieve it. Therefore, it displays that the post is anonymous.

It is not a bug but normal behavior

it just happened about a week ago, before that it 's ok to show guest name

I must admit i have never seen this before and i have been around for a long time

the only time i have seen the word anonymous was in the Who is online section in the google map
