Dark mode for Forumotion forums

It would be nice if on Forumotion forums (desktop and mobile version) there was a dark mode version.

It could be implemented through this CSS specification: @media (prefers-color-scheme: dark) { ... }

That's something that I actually plan to implement on my forum. I didn't know about the media query, though.

A way to implement a very basic dark mode is inverting all of the colors:

This may or may not look good on your forum. It also messes up images, but that is solveable.

A real dark mode is always better though. I will vote YES for this.

I voted yes also (sorry if its later), but whatsapp, gmail, and other apps are in dark mode... why not so forumotion forums?

I think the problem with a dark mode would be that since every forum has a different design, you have would have issues with certain texts or buttons not matching etc. For instance, my forum already has a dark theme, always has and always will, but if you made it appear in a light theme, your not going to be able to read the text (since it's white) and various other icons that were made specifically for the dark design would not match.

It's easier for sites like Facebook, Youtube, Twitter, etc to do it cause they don't have the problem of having thousands of fully customized forums.

I do not see a way Forumotion could implement this on a global scale without restricting the customization of the forums (which is what makes it unique).

I do believe there is a script out there that can be put in on a forum level that will make a forum appear lighter or darker, without actually impairing the functionality and design of the site.

Voting 'No'. I spend way too much time designing my forums and designing forums for others at their request for all of that hard work to go down the drain at the push of a button that would break the whole thing. I already disable the mobile version of the site for that very reason. Since your suggestion didn't including an option in the admin panel to disable it completely across the entire forum, at least not that I'm seeing, that's just one more feature that I have to painstaking remove with extra care taken to make sure nobody on any device using any browser can use it.
