loading problem

I have a problem with posting messages and logging into the acconut. When I try, the page is loading for too long. Like really really long.

This problem applies only to some users (but it's a problem with an account and occures when they try to log in to a page from different browsers and different devices and does not occure when they try to log in from their other accounts and same browsers or devices). Users are different: with admin permissions and without it, old ones and new ones.

The same is with posting: looks like it applies only to some topics, no matter who is writing there.

It's phpbb2. If I turn off all my scripts and clear cookies it's still happening. I didn't add any new codes or anything.

Could anyone give me advice?

Ask them to clear the browser cache.

Yes, my users still have problems after cleaning that.

Not all of them. And as I said it applies only to some of their accounts (some of my members have more than one account). I can log in to the forum by one of my accounts without any problem but by other I can not. And the effect is the same for that account on few browsers (firefox, opera, chrome, internet explorer) and on computer and phone as well - it's always problem with the same account. Other accounts are working fine on the same devices and the same browsers.

It's not just one account, there is a lot of them on my forum.

The problem does not occur when you simply open the forum or go to one of the topics - main page opens up just fine - but when you try to log in to the specific account. After hitting 'log in' button the page freezes; sometimes after a minute or so it logs you in, sometimes it goes straight into 'maintenance' page.

And the same happens when you send a message (that problem applies to even more users than logging problem).

The account's should not make any difference if you are using the same computer / phone / Tablet.
After all it's just an account.

Is there any chance you could send me a test account maybe one that has problems so i can run some tests when logged in.

If yes please PM me the username and password and i will see if i can get the same problem.

I have logged in to the account gave and YES the logging in is so so slow, It took me over 25 seconds to log in and then the page still did not load fully.

With your permission I will make a ticket to our head office asking them to try and log in using that account so they can run tests on that account to find the problem.

I have made the ticket and I hope some one in our head office will see the ticket tomorrow but it maybe as late as Monday or Tuesday before it can be passed on to our tech team.

Hello I have word back from our head office.

I am told you have lots of JavaScript's running in the background of your forum.

I have been told to ask you to turn all of them off temporarily and see if you still have the problem.

If No you will need to use less codes or maybe go over the ones you have and see what one is making you have the problem and then fix it or remove it.

Please remember using lots of CSS and JavaScript will slow your forum down and show some members a loading problem depending on their internet speed.

other then that there is NO other problems we can find on your forum from our end.

Well I wrote in my first post that turning off all scripts didn't help. I tried it once again, cleared my browser and forum ist still not working properly.

Looks like problem with logging has been solved yesterday night. Suddenly all my users can log in to the page.

But posting messages is still the problem.

I think that if it would be problem with amount of my scripts the problem would occure sometimes also with opening page - not only when I try to post a message.

When I'm waiting for send my message and before I get maintance page I always get from google chrome that:



"waiting for m.addthis.com..." could it make any difference?

Meaning that the code you add from that site dont load or loafing very slow

Well but I didn't add any code from this site and I have no advertisments on my forum.

Did you install a theme on your forum? If so you could have installed codes with it.

some forums are adding more social icons or modify them

I'm not sure if you added your own social icons to the bottom of your forum and this could be the problem.

I can ask if the site is used our end and maybe we could get them fixed but i need to make sure first you have not added them you self and the ones at the bottom of your forum is not the ones giving the problem.

I found that addthis code in overall header (or somewhere) and I removed it and that line dissapread from chrome but the problem still occure.

I removed my icons and the problem still ocure.

I turned off all scripts and forced default style and the problem still occure.

Okay did you turn off your Templates to see if that fixed the problem ?

Thanks for your past help and I hope I’m in the right forum here. We’ve been going well and a couple of members have transitioned to our new forum without issue. Now (today) however, when they try to access the site at the above link to register they are receiving this message, “This connection is not private” followed by a warning that someone may be impersonating the site to steal passwords etc. I have since tried as well and receive the same message. I’m not understanding what’s happening but at face value it’s a big concern. Your help would once again be appreciated. Please understand I’m a newbie and sorta need stuff spelled out a bit.

Thanks for taking the time and the response SL. This is a rather interesting and persisting issue. I tried what you suggested and I’m taken to pages of VSC forums with other hosts, mostly in the other side of the globe, but not ours. However, if I just use vscforum.forumotion.com it will take me to our forum seemingly without issue. Do you think we might have a security issue? I’ve been reading some ‘stuff’ sort of connected with it but I can’t say that I’m understanding.
