I would not really use a backup for the portal and widgets.  They can be easily added back manually.

@SLgray your very wrong with if Forumotion admin utilities work with a cloud based sever then it's supposed to save data for a previous data it's useful. Cloud-based backup solutions are very efficient. Instead of having to manage your backups yourself and ensure they're properly stored, the entire process happens automatically behind the scenes, and your site's files and folders are stored securely on a remote server. Sorry it Forumotion fault in the first place there issue screwed up portals to reinstall it back there fault zero activity was a issue this why a cloud is useful it a data save base service if Forumotion works with a cloud base then it save that data like your portal or widget. Also I don't see Godfather say it's required or Forumotion head say that redo your portals manually then back with our Forumotion admin utilities. prove it me other wise instead of saying it even thought your admin doesn't give you a right to force me to use something Forumotion provides in service to your sites you own.

@ape SLGray is challenging Forumotion cloud admin utilities cloud data save back up.

I want actual proof that back up with Forumotion admin utilities that work with a cloud service that has by year dates of your forum that have saved based data is not safe an do it all over manually then prove it to me other wise I will not listen to lies of a high ranking administration that says manual way.

Not to be rude are any thing but it's annoying an I hate bad support admins that can't do there job correctly

I am not challenging the backup system.  I am just saying that the portal and widgets can easily be added back without using a backup.  Also I am not saying that the backups are not safe.

    Hello there

I don't think it's a matter of efficiency but restore is always complicated and always has unwanted collateral effects : in case of total restore, some members might not be recovered, some posts might remain as "Guest", other will go back to their previous state (edited posts) all stats become nonsense even after resynchronizing and sometimes even after creating new posts or topics. I also got the case of an avatar not showing up after restoring an account. Sadly the list of unwanted effects is endless.
And sometimes we are unable to know if a restore will get back some features since nobody (including at head office) knows exactly all the effects of the backup (and what is exactly saved in a backup).

Forrest Gump could have said :
Using founder tools is like opening a chocolate box ...
... You never know what you will get.

So i agree with SLGray and i think restore tools should be used only when you have no other choice
