    Forumia Inaccessible Empty Forumia Inaccessible

    Post by Zeta Sat 28 Mar 2020 - 23:32

Forumia, the Interlingua version of Forumotion, appears to be inaccessible. Interlingua is still present in the list of Forumotion languages but clicking on it where it would usually redirect to forumia.net the page just returns a "The site can't be reached" and typing "forumia.net" into the url bar directly redirects to "http://ww7.forumia.net/?z" instead. On top of that forums with forumia urls seem to not be redirecting properly, also redirecting to "http://ww7.forumia.net/?z" rather than the current forumotion url for the forum. One such forum I'm a member of has become completely inaccessible. The founder is a friend and I contacted her through my forum to ask for the new url since it wasn't redirecting to it and she had to try to access the forum through founders' tools because she couldn't find it, but the url it sent her to apparently doesn't exist.

The founder will need to come here and ask for help with her forum.

From the looks of it there's a much bigger problem here that needs some fixing. Forumia as a whole is broken. The Interlingua links in the languages section of Forumotion don't work. Forumia urls aren't redirecting where they should and are instead redirecting to some place that isn't even forumotion.
That sounds like a very big issue.

As I told the manager, only going to give that information to the founder of the forum, they will be asked some personal data, to look at the forum database. This aid is exclusive to founders of the forums.

@Zeta The reason its not working is because the domain forumia.com has been permanently discontinued from our platform. All forums that previously had that domain were automatically moved to a new url and the forums were redirecting to the new url until the expiration of the domain name forumia. In order for us to locate the new url requires the founder to give us the foundation email so we can look it up in our tools. There is no other physical way for us to look it up in our tools.

Thank you for addressing the big issue. If it's been discontinued should it really still be linked on the main site? That gives the impression that it's just broken instead of discontinued. I page searched and I didn't find it on the list so is this a recent development? Also, what happens if a forum's url wasn't altered and still had the forumia address?

Where is it still linked so we can remove it? Also rest assured it has in fact been moved to one of the main domains for whatever language the forum is set. We just need the founder to give us the foundation email so we can check our tools and find the exact url for them.

This is not the only domain we have discontinued, in the topic I linked you to, you will see at least a hundred. It is part of a bigger project to cut unnecessary operating costs by shedding domains we do not use as much anymore.

So if you could the founder to come here so we may assist them in finding the forum, we would appericiate it.

It's still linked on the lists of different language versions of forumotion.
    https://www.forumotion.com/languages
    https://www.forumotion.com/languages/europe/eur
    https://www.forumotion.com/languages/asia-and-australia/asi
    https://www.forumotion.com/languages/africa/afr
    https://www.forumotion.com/languages/south-america/ads
    https://www.forumotion.com/languages/north-america/usa
You click on it and the link doesn't work.
These don't seem to be working either: Afrikaans, Amharic, Armenian, Basque, Belarusian, Bengali, Bihari, Cambodian, Corsican, Divehi, Esperanto, Faroese, Guarani, Guijarati, Hindi, Igbo, Irish, Javanese, Kannada, Kazakh, Kurdish, Kyrgyz, Laothian, Latin, Lingala, Luganda, Malagasy, Malayalam, Maltese, Marathi, Mongolian, Nepali, Northern Sotho, Norwegian nynorsk, Occitan, Oriya, Oromo, Pashto, Punjabi, Quechua, Sakha, Sesotho, Shona, Sindhi, Sinhalese, Somali, Sundanese, Swahili, Tajik, Tartarish, Telugu, Tibetan, Tigrinya, Tonga, Uighur, Xhosa, Yiddish, Yoruba, Zulu

Also, I brought it up to her and she told me she would rather just remake the forum with one of the functioning urls because she's pretty sure since trying to use forumotions founder's tools gave her something that doesn't exist it just got wiped from existence.

She needs to come here for help.

Each language has more than one extension.  There is usually one major one.  Forumotion is discontinuing some of the extensions.  It could be the one you are having an issue was recent.  They have not updated the list recently.

It was NOT wiped. We have done this process for over a hundred domains for a year now and have never lost a forum once. It's just a matter of finding the new url.

Also if she is using the url to log in to the founder tools it is not going to work, because once the domain leaves our system, the redirect is canceled and our tools can no longer locate the new url using the old url. The only way to find it is with the email.
