OK, so I created a favicon and put the script code in my meta tags. I'm useing IE 7- and I know you can view favicons because I see them all over the place. But I can'[t see mine. Here is the code I'm useing:

I copied the code from the other forum and replaced my file where it said to- but with no luck. What am I doing wrong?

I think it would be best to first start off by having you look thru the tutorial and see if you spot a step that you might have missed.

Just a reminder, the favicon will only show on the index and portal pages.

Okay, you didn't mention before that you used the tutorial, so I wasn't sure if you went thru all of the steps.

Yea- sorry I was reading it again- and it looks like I have to put it in meta tag form. But Which generator should I use? There's alot and the ones found are asking for tons of info. Is that what I'm doing wrong?

Thanks k- so my problem is when I closed out and left- then came back in my code ws gone it got deleted from my meta tags. So no favicon anymore.

Completely deleted? I could imagine that your code gets cut if it's too long though... Well, you can try to use this code here - put that in the "other meta tags" field in "General / Homepage / Config". I'm sure it works properly - replace the red part with the path to your .ico file.

I tried that code too I will try it gain- I'm gonna see if I can shorten my first meta tag code I have in there. I will let you know if it works

I don't know if it would make any difference or not, but I used this generator.

And same as you, I hosted it at fileden.

Don't forget to make sure the size of the favicon generator is marked for 16x16.

mine doesnt work either, it worked for a month or so, than recently like the past week hasnt worked.. it seems to work off and on, but than not work for days.

Thanks you guys. I got it working again- I wil lsee how long it lasts. I didn't take out any meta tags yet so we will see if it stays in there

Where did you place the code? I think your favicon might work if you place the code on your site description provided there's enough space for your code.
