Solved Avatar in the recent topics problem

    Post by sofiam007 November 16th 2021, 6:05 pm

    Hi!
On many sites I have found that there is a problem with the last post image.
    https://help.forumotion.com/t137749-avatar-in-the-recent-topics?highlight=recent

If I login, I can see member pic, but when I signed out, I can't.

I did not do anything (I don't have new java, and I don't have new code) and I think other admins did not do anything too.
(I have been using the code since January 2021.)
Can you please help us? Maybe it was an update with this code?

    Hello,

There is no problem with the script, it's the way it should work.

You can find at line 38
    Code:
          $('#recentTopics a[href^="/u"]').each(function(){
Script is looking for a link of username.

Logged out, usernames are not clickable, so no link, no picture.
Once logged, usernames can be clicked and you get the avatars displayed.

It has worked properly to this day. Guests also saw the pictures.

I'm talking about my own website. Everything was fine until morning, and all names were linked. At afternoon, usernames in the widget were not linked. (Therefore, the java code does not work either.)
If I login, I can see member pic, but when I signed out, I can't. I did not do anything (I don't have new java, and I don't have new code) and I think other admins did not do anything too.(I have been using the code since January 2021.)
The default code has no link too.

So what happend, and how I can fix it?

    Hello,

We have modified the link on member nicknames in the "Latest topics" and "New topics" widgets. As on the forum and topic pages, the nickname is not clickable for guests. Only for members.

Is the problem the same with the default template and CSS file please?

    Hi @The Godfather

The problem will be the same with default template since Insane's tutorial is based on links on usernames. No more links, no more avatars for guests

    Hello

We just applied a fix because now, the change of yesterday only impacts the mobile version (no link on the username for guest). Can you test again please (don't forget to clear your cache)?

Thank you for help Godfather, and that you fixed it.
Problem was not java, not my browsers cache and not cookies. Problem was just link. It was not clickable for guests. BUT NOW good.
