I had some questions about Newsletters "Popular contents"

I cannot find it now . But I had asked you about the fake username that was on the email I get for the " Newsletters "Popular contents".

I had asked if I deleted that user ? Would I still receive the " Newsletters "Popular contents" .

You replied that it should not effect it at all .

I no longer receive the " Newsletters "Popular contents" .

It is still activated . How can I get myself on that mailing list ?

I am the founder , owner and only admin . I don't see how I don't automatically receive it .

If you are the founder of the forum you should still get the emails / News letters.

You need to have a real Email address linked to your forum to have this happen.

All news letters go by account's linked to a Email address so if you delete an account then the news letters will stop going to that Email address.

So as you are the founder of the forum you will get the news letter to your founders account Email. if you no longer see it then you could have a problem with your Email account you are using or the news letter is getting sent to your junk mail not your inbox.

Try and look in your junk mail to see if you have got it there.

My primary gmail is the same as it has been for over 20 years . And should be on my founders account . I see nothing in my SPAM or ALL MAIL .

The reason I know I didn't get the " Newsletters "Popular contents" is I saw a PUSH notification . It said that a particular topic was trending in my site .

So that's when I looked for the email for the " Newsletters "Popular contents". No sign of it .

Again . There must be some sort of problem .

How do I fix this please ?

No sign of it anywhere . I even checked my secondary email . Not there either .

IDK what to do from here .

I changed 2 things .

I didn't know " hide my online status was on ".

I didn't know " always attach my signature was off ".



This setting is not administrable .



Yet this has always been on . Up until 2 months ago I always received them

I had hoped to get a message concerning my dilemma on this topic .

As you can see by this screen shot . I am receiving the newsletter again . But as you can also see . The recpient is not me . Again it is a fictional user .

I really want to receive it myself . Can we figure out how to do that ?




As we found out a few months ago . When I delete the other " test " user . That leaves only myself as admin . That is when I no longer receive the newsletters .

Okay . This is what is happening .

My primary email is my gmail

My secondary email is my hotmail

Everything is supposed to go to my gmail .

For years hotmail has not forwarded my emails to gmail . So I generally do not use my hotmail .

All of my forumation support goes to my gmail .

All forum replies go to my gmail .

This 1 test account is registered with hotmail because my gmail is already being used in my admin account . For some reason . The popular contents , admin test account with hotmail . forwards to my gmail . While no other hotmails forward to my gmail .

I think I will try to create my secondary email as another gmail .

I don't get what you mean about primary and secondary Email account you as the owner / founder can only have 1 account with one Email account linked to your Founders account you can't have two of them it just don't work like that.

now if you mean you have your founders account and then you have a second admin account then that will have the other Email address then ok i get you now but you will not get two Email accounts on one account.

Now the Emails you get that says noreply in the address well this is 100% right it will not use your Email address as the sender as it is not safe to do so,

you need to understand the Email address of your account's should never show as a email from you as it is not safe to send your Email address for security reasons as you would be open to hackers taking over your forum so yes it will use some other Email address.

I don't know what you are talking about . I was talking about my recovery email , personally .

I don't think anything in my forum or in forumotion supprt has ever changed .

All I know is that I do not get an email of popular contents any longer . I think as the admin of my forum . I should receive a copy of it when it is published .

Can we do something to my settings that will allow me to receive each issue of popular contents ?

Did you notice the recipient . Yes that recipient was only created 1 week ago .

If my founders account is different than what I originally made it . Then I can't get into it to change it .

It appears that I do have the correct info for my founders info .

The email is the same as my forum email . It is gmail . But as you can see above . The test account has a hotmail email . And is the only email that I get the popular contents in . When there is a test account with hotmail .

So you are saying that for me to receive " popular contents " . I must create an account with a different name . If this is the case ? Why not just say so .
You are saying that popular contents cannot send me an issue because I don't have an alias . Correct ?



Right now . If I delete the apetest account . I will no longer receive popular xontents . Why ? IDK . It has the wrong email for admin .

Speaking of emails . I just tried to send 3 different emails . The email system does not work .

They all say :

I was not getting emails or any notifications for the popular contents. Until just last week you ape was granted an admin access to my forum. After you did whatever you did. That ID remained a few days later on the 20th of March. I received an email from the recipient of apetest . Proving to me once and for all that any popular content would have not shown up without the new false ID.

Which brings us to the current time which is the same as it was 3 months ago when I asked the forum what would happen if I deleted the specific fake account that I had. Because I was getting notifications from that false account. One of them included the popular contents.

Forum supports reply was that deleting that user should not affect anything. So I did it and then went about my business didn't think anything of it. But a couple months later I realized again I'm not receiving the popular contents. Which brings us to this scenario.

Yes I will continue to receive the popular contents if I leave the account ape test as it is in my forum. It looks as though that is the only way that I can receive them. I don't believe that's the proper settings or configuration that allows popular contents in my forum. But it may be just what I'll have to deal with and live with.

If you have no other answers for me then I suppose this is solved. I am at work right now responding to you on my phone which I really should not be doing but to save you having to wait until this evening I'm replying now.

Hello @azwiz i have been talking to our head office and our tech team and they have come back telling me that you have modified the template's on your forum.

When you change any templates any new updates made by us to our system will not be installed to your modified template's
so if you don't see the updates then you need to modify the template your self.

Please look at your templates and set it to default templates and see if you get any popular content's emails.
If you do then you will need to replace parts of your modified template's to make it work with your change you have done to your templates.

@azwiz  in the future please send a PM to a staff member telling us that a issue was not solved, or a topic is in the garbage so you will not have the same issue in multiple topics.
