    Completed Litigation Inquiry

Post by Guest February 22nd 2022, 6:07 pm

Hello. I hope I'm making this post in the correct area. I apologize if I've overstepped

I'm making this post to inquire about my experience with the litigation tool here: https://www.forumotion.com/litigation

It's my understanding that forumotion has no obligation to get back to the person that raised the litigation. And that I may not have any luck with getting anyone to follow up with me here. So I apologize if this post is being made to no avail.

It is my understanding that per the terms of service of forumotion "Content of a sexual, obscene, pornographic nature" is strictly prohibited. Several days ago I submitted a litigation citing many links on a forum, along with a corresponding screenshot. Here is just one of the forum pages in question: Link Removed

This forum has dozens, if not hundreds of pages like this depicting explicit sexual and/or adult content in either writing or images. As far as I can tell, it is a fairly blatant violation of the terms of service. I don't know what the turnaround time is for litigations. But from searching and reading other threads in these support forums, I was made to believe that if no action is taken against a given forum despite a litigation being raised, and if all the content remains intact, then the forumotion litigation team sees no issue with that forum.

Is this the type of content that the forumotion team wants its forums to broadcast? Does this mean that sexual content is allowed on forums powered by forumotion? I'm very confused on the matter. If anyone can enlighten me, I'd very much appreciate it.

    Thank you

    Dear "@town_crier"

Thank you for your topic pointing out the problem.

    Making a Litigation complaint:
when you make a complaint on our Litigation tool the report is sent to our team in France.
Now when this complaint is made it gets put on our system and our team read them as soon as they can, Now the problem is 100's if not more are made each day and  most of them are fake and this is a waste of our teams time.

Now our team is really small in the head office and it can take over 2 or 3 weeks just to get to one legit Complaint.
Our team then send a warning to the Admin / founder of that forum to ask them to remove any posts that are breaking our TOS now they don't point out the posts they just give a warning. its then up to the owner of the forum to remove them posts in a set time (I think 30 days) then our team look over the forum again to see if the owner of that forum has done what we have asked them to so.

Now the owner may miss some posts and that if fine we can't always be 100% but they should know our rules and TOS.

Now if you want to poing out to the owner of the posts that are breaking the rules and TOS then you can use this link>>  Report an abuse

This then sends a report to the owner of the forum only and they then have to deal with it them self.
My advice is to always talk to the owner first pointing out the topic's posts, and then maybe the TOS / rules of us then if nothing is done then report it to us.

The Declare a Litigation Tool can take about 3 weeks before it is looked at then 30 days for the Owner to deal with the warning we have gave them.

I removed the link you posted as proof.  Please do not post links like that on the support forum.

Thank you Ape for your very comprehensive and enlightening reply. I had no idea the litigation was so small. Nor did I know that they had such a large workload.

I'll have to give it ample time before I can be sure that they've seen my submission. There doesn't seem to be a way to expedite this process or simplify the situation.

Also, I'm very sorry SLGray. I was under the impression that all links to forumotion and forums powered by it were safe to use in the support forum. I know realize that isn't the case. My apologies.

You can post links to forums, but not to things that break the Terms of Service, especially anything sexual.

Hello @town_crier I have got a PM from the owner of the forum saying they are removing any images that are breaking our TOS and have asked the members not to post them again.

So i will mark this as topic as closed as the member is now removing them.
