I am afraid it is not possible though.. because the thumbnails are generated by the server

A solution could be to replace the link to thumbnails

(what changes in the path is the subfolder /th), but:

• the image is replaced every time, so it would be replaced with the thumbnails even if we fix it when the page is loaded
  
• having the real images would slow down the forum
  

So I am afraid there is nothing we can really do, it would require a server-side change
