When it comes to hiring administration staff for my forum, what is a good way to do it?

Any help, hints or tips would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks. Very Happy

Look for people who are helpful, polite, seem to be good members, and they the type of person who could handle the position. Hello
You might not want to give a position if a member asks for it.

Edited: To make it more like a suggestion Wink

With me it makes me feel that they have a reason that they want it. Such as they want to try to take over the forum.

You make me your Admin! lol! Not really!

I am however, good with most everything in Forumotion......plus I am really bored and looking for a job in a more busy place than my site which is doing so well it bores me.

And as Sir-Duke said- You should't have to worry about people trying to take over so long as you have the Primary Admin Password and nobody else does.

You can create an application form by going to Email Me Form™ and creating a free account then making your application form. Post the link to the form on your index page of your forum stating you are seeking moderators. Members click on the link, fill in the form and it's automatically emailed to you.

I would suggest setting out your application form something like this:

    Username:
    Email Address:
    Position Applying for:
    Past moderating experience:
What can you bring to the board:
Why you want to be a moderator:
    Email Address:

    etc.

Super Mod always sounded weird to me so I never use it. Instead I use Headmaster as in Moderation Headmaster.

And there is nothing wrong with having other Admins just make sure you have the Rank of Founder or some other Rank only you have and leave an Admin Comment on yourself and make yourself your own group to get your point across that you are the Forum Ninjas!

Thanks for the help everybody! Very Happy

Also should I seek moderators as soon as my forum is complete? Or should I wait a bit?

Depending how many members you have and what you are willing to do. I would say 0-3. Meaning Just you or up to You+3 Moderators.

How many posts do you get a day? It's silly to even bother with moderators unless you have a large amount of posts. The admin can handle that himself. I don't have ANY moderators on any of my forums. I enjoy reading all the posts and moderating when it's absolutely necessary. Otherwise I don't need to bother. members know what the rules are.
