Sorry if this has been covered, I've scoured through on Search in different formats and just can't find the answer. I need to put a post giving information on a PDF file saved in my documents. I have HTML set to "yes" in preferences. Can't seem to get anything to work! Thanking you in advance.

You're notr really explaining what you want to do here. What do you mean by "giving information on a PDF"? Are you trying to link a PDF file or what? Where is the file you want to link to?

you have to upload the pdf to a site like fileden

then provide the link to down load the pdf in a topic or nav menu

Saurus - can't explain it any differently, the file is PDF, its saved in My Documents, I want to put a link of that file into a post.

You can't link to a file of any sort on your computer - unless of course you are running a file server - which I don't think you are. So what you have to do is upload the PDF to a file server of some kind, and put a link to the URL supplied by them in the message or other link. For files I don't want to host on my own domain for some reason, I use MediaFire, which is free and very good, but any file server would work as well.
