Internet Explorer 8 (RC 1) Empty Internet Explorer 8 (RC 1)

Post by ParadiseKid February 28th 2009, 10:30 am

How many of you people are out t hese using Internet Explorer 8, RC 1?
Microsoft wrote:RC1 is short for "Release Candidate 1". Release candidate software is ready to be evaluated by users while it undergoes final testing. You may experience minor bugs or compatibility issues with websites while browsing.
In case you don't know, it's not officialy realeased yet. It's only in it's trial and error stage. But so far, from my short experience with it, it appears it's going ot be giving FireFox a run for its money.

What are your thoughts on it? And if you haven't tried it yet, but would like to, then go to this address:

Can the Moderators/Administrators please not lock this topic. I saw a topic in the General Discussions about Google Chrome.

So far I haven't experienced any bugs or deformations of web pages. And when I do come across a deformation of a web page - I simply click on a button in the toolbar and it will display it like an older version would.

But it's all good at the moment. I think that I'll be sticking with it for a while. You should check out the new features that is has. Very cool and unique.

All you had to say was "internet explorer" for me to say NO!
I don't care about IE... unless you bring me news that Bill Gates buys Mozilla technology to replace IE ...for good!

Have you seen the extent of IE fixes?

IE is shit. Either way you turn it.

Many many years we had no choice. We had to use it. And i didnt even like it back then nor i do now. Its slow, inefficient and less safe than other browsers. I havent use it for years and i have it forbidden in my firewall.

New version or not, i am not giving it a chance.

Edit : i just saw ParadiseKid got banned. Say what ? :O He was polite, reasonable and calm, got to check what he did to deserve a ban.

Edit 2 : ok i dont get it. At all. I checked his latest posts - seems ok. But he got banned like 2 minutes after i posted this post.

IE = TT Can I kick you ass?

I ONLY have IE6, as a backup to firefox and to make sure coed work in IE.
IE6 was the LAST decent IE out there!

I will personally KIK YOU to the other side of the world if u think IE8 BETA is decent!!

    Firefox ROCKS!
and it also has its own built in Phishing filter banana

My school has IE7, because it has 1 thing that FF doesn't !

I'm not saying it's better than FireFox - but it has made a HUGE improvement on the interface and there are a tonne of new features.

I use vista manager on my PC... after each format ... I always change the settings of my vista via the manager... there is a cool restrict program option.
As soon as I get firefox downloaded I restrict IE... it even stops those viruses that run IE.

I have another word for them, but someone might feel offended so i wont say it Razz But basically it is like this, those who are smart just a little bit and CARE ( privacy, speed, safety ) just a little bit, will use something else than IE. I think thats a fair sentence to everyone.

I stumbled apon an interesting article yesterday ...
It was about IE... the reason why I read it was a very intriuging title...
"the beginning of the end of IE"

The article mentioned that people are getting sick and tired of Microsofts monopoly with IE. They say that Microsoft gives no freedom when choosing a browser. And that is true. When you install windows you get IE as a present...a present you don't need.

Now it seems the European Union along with Heise Online are fighting to make IE optional. This sounds really good.

But Microsoft are all willy nilly saying that a system without a default web browser is no system at all. Also they are trying to force feed us into thinking that we won't be able to download or install other browsers without downloading the files via IE first. Thus the ring closes.

In the past there was a similar campaign. Some freaks wanted the Media Player to be optional... but due to the fact that there wasn't much people behind this the idea went away.
With IE there is a lot of antifans... so we will see

hmm...well IE started the same way

i once saw a show on discovery which studied the era of start of consumer internet...the time around which IE 5 came out~!
no offence but its a known fact that MS faced corruption charges...caused they used the money from windows to fund IE but more than that bribe , and make a monopolistic situation... MS was the reason Netscape lost the race and eventually ran out of business.. as MS used sneaky tricks...

but looking at the other side well its hard to maintain ones position at top..
and some times people try to do literally anythin to stay at top!?
but even after that without MICROSOFT ...we internet user would have been living in primitive age... with no computers (well not literally :p)

No way, I used internet explorer for years, then one day I downloaded firefox just to test it and had no real intention to stick with it - but now that i've tried it, I haven't looked back since.

Plus, It would be a pain to re organize all my bookmarks, start all over etc..
