    Contact Form Help Empty Contact Form Help

    Post by StarForce Fri May 01, 2009 1:28 pm

    Hey Guys,
    I made a contact form, but I used the MailTo thing to send it to my adress.
    But it opens up like MicroSoft Outlook,
    So is there any way they can send it to me through Private Message?
    So, like.

    Welcome to the contact page!
    <name>
    <age>
    -age 1
    -age 2
    <details>
    ------------------------------------------------
    - -
    ------------------------------------------------

    [Submit] [Reset]

    And then it sends me a PM with the information they sent.

    <fieldset class="submit-buttons"><input type="hidden" name="folder" value="inbox" /><input type="hidden" name="mode" value="post" /><input type="hidden" name="new_pm_time" value="1241218921"><input type="hidden" name="lt" value="" /><input class="button2" type="submit" name="preview" value="Preview" tabindex="5" />&nbsp;&nbsp;<input class="button1" type="submit" name="post" value="Send" tabindex="6" accesskey="s" /></fieldset>

    Not sure if this helps you... That's what is used for the preview and send buttons..

    Either in the HomePage message or a custom widget.

    No, that does not help - at all.

    but lol at the suggestion, LOL.

    What do you want it to do? mailto tells it to send it by email, hence using ur default email client ...

    Yes, but I do not wish for it to open in the default, because It is normaly MicroSoft Office, nad you have to set up your "Protocule" and stuff like that. So I wish shen they click the "Submit" button, it sends a Private Message to my user (StarForce) On the forums. So they fill out the form (username, email) and then they click submit, it says "Thank you, your form has been sent" and next time I log in, it says "New PM" and it has all the values and stuff.

    I understand you wish to use the contact form you mentioned, but maybe you could just use the default contact form of the forum, which you can choose to receive as a PM. Instruct members/guests as to what to include in the contact PM.

    Or you could make a separate HTML page, and link the default contact url in that page with the instructions for the details you wish people to send you. Then make nav bar link with the contact HTML page.

    With the forum's default contact page, the person submitting it has to include their email as it is.

    ...just an idea
