Really what's the point of a limit for the max. number of posts that a thread can hold.
A thread can only have 990 posts, and it automatically locks, and starts a new one.
Is this even necessary? I sure don't think so!
Let the people choose if they want a limit for posts for their forums threads or not.
Cause it's annoying how, whenever a thread on my forum, or any other forum for that matter, starts becoming active, popular, and loved....but OH NO, it has 990 posts, time to lock that one and make a new topic.....seriously i don't want that...and i'm sure most of you don't ether. Even if your forum isn't all BIG right now, then later, it gets tons of new, and active members, and some threads get tons of posts in them each and everyday, but they always lock by themselves for having 990 posts in them and starts over again....you will find it annoying, trust me.
I can understand limits for the other stuff....but for posts in a thread? No thanks??!!?

You want to take off the thread posting limit; Yes or No?
    You decided!

Cant you change the maximun number of posts a thread can hold via the Admin Control Panel? Must be getting mixed up with a similiar feature of the ACP - the PM system where you can change how many number of PM's your PM folder can hold.

Anyway... I totally agree with you. Should be a feature to disable this I think. Voted yes.

Voted yes...we have a very active forum and we have to manually start a daily blog and number the treads #1, #2, etc. Also, moderators have to be open a new number thread and lock the old one as it approaches 990 posts and provide a link to the new thread so new members don't get lost. It is most annoying.

Well if its sooo popular it wil be split into a second thread,

If forumotion somehow had to make it bigger then they would require more space on the servers to store all that extra information which is expensive to buy,

The techs would have to work out a way to make the appearance nicer for larger threads thus needing more techs or get paying them to figure it out and then perhaps the costs would be passed down to us.

So in summary, It seems like a good idea however it may end up costing us

    Regards

I think its a very good idea. But It should be addedan option to get the thread automaticly restarted. Because some people like the automaticly new start !

I'd rather be paying or donating money to Forumotion to solve this problem than make a forum look tacky with split up threads.

but really why would you want a limit for thread posting? Ok ok yeah, your forum would have 50 million people on it, still want the limit then?
