    How do I remove the white space (or at least make it hidden/transparent)?

    admin panel>>>display tab>>> on the left menu when you scroll down you will se pictures and colors, click on colors>>> scroll down to background header color, and delete what in there then save, that will make the header background transparent,otherwise you can put in a different color.
