where are you placing that code? on the description box or on the name of the forum?

Add that code in the description of a forum.

General>Forum>Categories and forums
Click on any forum name
Description: Add that code.

you shud also try it in html code instead of bb-code

take care HTML is enabled

HTML enabling:

First:
Admin panel => General => Messages & emails => Congiguration => Allow HTML : => Yes => Save

Then:
Profile => Preferences => Always allow HTML : => Yes => Save

here's the problem: whenever i do that, here's what i get:
Instead of:

Service:<font color=#00BF00>On-Line</font>

try that

Use <br> to drop it down a line & add a space or 2 with: &nbsp;

<br>Service:<font color=#00BF00>&nbsp;On-Line</font>
