    Avatar sizes/space Empty Avatar sizes/space

    Post by Keyhole_kate March 27th 2010, 10:12 am

    Hi

I have read the FAQ thread https://help.forumotion.com/frequently-asked-questions-f5/how-to-setup-members-avatar-s-sizes-t35092.htm and we have done this. What we want to know is, why does it allow us to upload a larger one? Does it resize it?

Also, does the avatar size use up 'gallery' space or is that separate?

    Thank you.

How are the avatars that are larger than your stated size being uploaded, is it the ones members are linking to from image hosting?

The avatars are hosted by Iiliweb & do not take up gallery space. Smile

Sorry, yes I am talking about ones uploaded by members from their computer or image hosting.

I think the only thing to do is put a message on your forum stating the maximum size you wish them to use. If they don't notice it and still use larger ones, then send them a PM with a link to your request & ask them to re-size it. If it's only one or two, you could just re-size yourself & send them a polite PM explaining the original one was too large.

So there is no way to prevent them uploading large ones then?
