Points Store

First topic message reminder :

Hey Guys
Over the past few weeks, there has been a lot of talk about points and what to do with them. I think that an automatic points store should be made so Administrators don't have to spend their time doing point exchanges over the admin panel for people instead of enhancing their forum. I believe the points shop should include things such as this:

• Username Change
  
• Buy a Rank (A little field to type in the rank they want, the rank can added to the ACP)
  
• Buy a Signature (For forums like ForuMotion that only allow signatures for staff)
  
• Buy a Home (A HTML page of their own that they can get made/make themselves as like a home. There could be a link in their posts and profile like a little contact button with a home on it. I've seen something called "NeoHomes" on a forum called Neoseeker, and they seem to be a great success)
  
• Buy a Social Group (Create a group that they can manage, it can be anything they want like "Xbox Lovers" or "Horse Riders", etc.)
  
• Buy a Coloured Name (Simply place the user in a group that has the colour they want)
  

I understand that it would be hard to make these things happen automatically, so I've come up with an idea. The points can be automatically subtracted from the user. The admin(s) of the forum will recieve an E-mail telling them that [Username] has bought a [thing] and you need to [do something]. Here is an example:

Dear Clug,
Hrtxf has just bought a coloured name and you need to create a group in the admin panel with the colour #5babe8 as the colour the usernames will be.

I think this would be a great idea and would make points a lot more useful in forums.

I like it. Seems reasonable.

This avoids admins from having to do all the work and creating their own "Shop" in order to please their players. We want our players to be happy. More players being happy = more activity.

It's not as easy as just a few clicks of buttons and a sentence in a code box... The Forumotion technicians must create this and it has to be tested for bugs and then has to be added to Forumotion and then an Update must be sent out for everyone.

You can change username without points any time...

I would love to see something like this, but not the options you say. I would use it for something in which players refer another player via our applications (you need to apply to join our server) and from there can collect said referral points and buy different VIP ranks and such that will then be transferred to the server for use. However for any of that to happen there needs to be a page you can add in which players can spend points, the rest of it can be coded, IMO.

Since forumotion is French company suggesting here is a bit pointless, all these suggestions are in 99% approved on forumactif.

But yes i'm voting this is what forumotion needed.

If anything the option that members can donate points to others should be allowed

Is it the same thing you asked ?
If so, do we have a need for such stuff?

If point/reputation systems, already existing in FM forums, we may use this as a pre"payment" system and have end-users pay from their points for 'such services'

but, the best use stay for RPG forums, where they buy Ammo, magic, life, weapons, shields, life etc...
