How can I block non- members for viewing some of the forum information that appears at the bottom if my main page.
All I want them to see is who is on-line now.
Members and board stats are really of no concern to non-members

Okay, guests cannot view the boards stats no matter what -- it's not just an option.

As far as members go, just go to: ACP > Users & Groups > Special Rights > and where you see "Memberlist", just select "Members" from the drop-down.

ACP -> Users & Groups -> Special Rights -> Set Forum Statistics : to members -> Save.

This did not work.

What I want is to block this from guests.
I have reset all the settings as stated above, and yet when I look at it as a Guest I still see all the information about members who is on-line and so on.

tell me your forum version mean punbb or phpbb2 ...

you can not sign in as a guest.. guest means for anyone that is not a member or logged into the forum
