Making the Portal Recent Topics that are unread bold

Heya.

Is there a way for the Portal's Recent Topics that people have NOT read "New Posts" to become bold.

eg.

» So, how are you?
by JohnnyCbad Today at 13:42

» Forum Design
by JohnnyCbad Today at 13:39

» Rate the last game you played
by SilentHunter Today at 13:26

The bold means that the user has NOT read the new posts in those 2 threads but has read the newest post on the "Forum Design" thread!

Is this possible (Or do I have to switch to phpbb2 or punbb to do this)
