The chatbox on my forum (Team YoruSoi) has not been acting properly recently. Specifically, the auto-refresh function is not stable. It there are occasions when it fails to work, resulting in a jumble flood of messages when it does start auto-refreshing.

I've checked with a number of other forum-members, all regular users of the chatbox, and they all are experiencing the same issue. Is this a site-wide Forumotion issue, or has something just gone horrible awry with my forum?

Yes i am afraid its a global forumotion issue. However, its not that bad when there is a jumble flood of messages. I think that has to do with the internet connection on your end.

Sorry, I'm prone to hyperbole. Thanks for the speedy reply. Is there any estimation on when this will be fixed or is this just a time to "wait and see?"

Well, i don't see this happening lately. Because its not fixed since a long time.

You might want to use a third party chatbox like xat.com or something.
