I've tried everything listed in this thread:

And when I preview the template after adding the code in the proper area, I see the drop down, and the menu list, but when published, the drop down menu is nowhere to be found.
I'd post screen shots, but regrettably, I discarded the work I'd done.
LOL I guess I could be screwing it up, but I'd like to see if anyone else has tried this and either had similar issues, or if it has worked.
