    Time zone update Empty Time zone update

    Post by Shadow April 12th 2011, 2:45 pm

    Dear Forumotion users,

    In continuation with our efforts to offer forums that are intuitive and that utilize cutting edge technology, we optimized the time zones in your forums.

    The new time zone selection is much more accurate and has a fully automated management system of the correction and adjustment of the winter and summer hours. (Daylight saving)
    Result: A minimum amount of effort from administrators and members but also maximum accuracy.

    The options "AutoCorrect Time" and "Adjust Time" in your profiles and the admin panel will be deleted as they are no longer useful.

    This update does not change anything in your typical usage of the forum but will simplify and automatize the management in a more precise and intuitive way for communities all over the world.

    We hope that this improvement will bring you full satisfaction.

    Cordially
    Forumotion staff

    For customized templates users that have modified profile_add_body you need to make the following modification:

    • PhpBB 2 Forumotion:

    Template profile_add_body

    Delete :

    Code:

                <td class="row2">{DATE_FORMAT}</td>
       </tr>
       <!-- BEGIN switch_number_format -->
       <tr>
          <td class="row1"><span class="gen">{L_NUMBER_FORMAT} :</span></td>
          <td class="row2">{NUMBER_FORMAT}</td>
       </tr>
       <!-- END switch_number_format -->
       <tr>
          <td class="row1"><span class="gen">{L_AUTO_CORRECT_DST} :</span></td>
          <td class="row2">
             <label class="gen"><input type="radio" name="auto_dst" value="1"{AUTO_CORRECT_DST_YES} />{L_YES}</label>
             <label class="gen"><input type="radio" name="auto_dst" value="0"{AUTO_CORRECT_DST_NO} />{L_NO}</label>
          </td>
       </tr>
       <tr>
          <td class="row1">
             <span class="gen">{L_DAYLIGHT_SAVING_TIME} :</span><br />

    and

    Code:
           <td class="row2">
             <label class="gen"><input type="radio" name="summer_time" value="0"{WINTER_TIME_CHECKED} />{L_WINTER_TIME}</label>
             <label class="gen"><input type="radio" name="summer_time" value="1"{SUMMER_TIME_CHECKED} />{L_SUMMER_TIME}</label>
          </td>

    • PunBB:

    Template profile_add_body

    Delete :

    Code:
        <dd>{DATE_FORMAT}</dd>
             </dl>
             <dl>
                <dt><label>{L_AUTO_CORRECT_DST} :</label></dt>
                <dd>
                   <label class="gen"><input type="radio" name="auto_dst" value="1"{AUTO_CORRECT_DST_YES} />{L_YES}</label>

                </dd>
             </dl>
             <dl>
                <dt><label>{L_DAYLIGHT_SAVING_TIME} :</label></dt>
                <dd>
                   <label class="gen"><input type="radio" name="summer_time" value="0"{WINTER_TIME_CHECKED} />{L_WINTER_TIME}</label>

    To change the time go to ACP then
    General >>>
    Forum * Configuration >>> look for System Timezone : change the setting to your timezone and then Save
    That will change the time on the site for you.

    Hope that was of some help to ya

    Time zone update Empty Re: Time zone update

    Post by Hemmy April 15th 2011, 11:36 am

    Everything on my Calendar has shifted back a day since this time zone update. In the 'hour of the event' box, 23 has appeared in the hours box.
    I am having to go through every event individually & change it to the correct day.
    Will this now happen every time the hour goes forwards or backwards?

    I've tried for 2 days to correct the time on our site to no avail. Seems not everyone is having the time problem?

    Help and/or suggestions would be appreciated.

    WELL I seem to have cleared this one by individually going into the profiles and changing for those complaining.

    Now I am looking for help on my disappeared REPUTATION (+ or -) section. HELP PLS.

    Everything on my calendar has also moved back a day since this time zone update. In the 'hour of the event' box, 23 has appeared in the hours box which means it has gone from midnight to the day before.

    Our users rely on our calendar and use it.

    We had to go through every event individually & change it to the correct day.

    I hope this will not happen every time the hour goes forwards or backwards.

    The time problem is showing up on http://musicboxradio.forumotion.com/.

    It shows one hour ahead (says it's 1:00pm when it's actually 12:00pm). I've tried changing it using the time zone setting, even choosing a time zone that we aren't in, but it won't change the time on the website.

    The summer - winter select option isn't available to change either.

    We are in the US Central Time zone. UTC -6, Daylight Savings Time.

    Time zone update Empty Fixed I guess. For me anyway.

    Post by wheezer May 17th 2011, 12:50 am

    After reading other topics about this, it seems that I needed to change it in my profile on the forum. Changing it in the admin pages, under general>forum>configuration appears to be just for looks and doesn't really do anything. Or that's how it looks to me, with my minimal understanding of how things are supposed to work.

    Our calendar moved back an entire day as well. I've gone through and modified things, but what a hassle. Hopefully this bug can be fixed and not happen the next time we change time.
