    Is there a way to disable this feature so only mods and admins can be hidden no members

    Well, but anyways you can see the hidden members. They are just hidden from other members.

    I don't believe there is an option to change it in the admin panel.

    There is no option in the admin panel, but it is possible to 'hide' this option using templates so it doesn't appear in the preferences. But, even if the option is simply removed it doesn't mean that the whole 'hide' thing is gone.

    Any members who are currently hiding themselves would still remain hidden with no way of deactivating this. However, that's when the beauty of profile editing comes in. Wink

    You are able to make anyone hidden or unhidden by editing their profile in the admin panel. This way, you can restore any user who is still hidden after you've removed the option and make any mod or admin hidden.

    If you're interested, I could help you with that.

    I'm interested in eliminating the option of members being hidden from each other. I'm also terrible at codes and all that stuff so instructions would have to be very simplified.

    Thank you if anyone can help.

    Hi TM, what is your forum version?

    Edit: I have to go, I can't wait for an answer. Here https://help.forumotion.com/t84365-disable-the-hide-your-online-status?highlight=Online+status
    The same thing goes for phpBB2, the same template but the codes will be a bit different.

    My forum is phpBB2. Would you be able to provide the codes for that version and perhaps tell me what to do with them ? Thank you very much for your help.

    Hi TM,

    For phpBB2 you don't have to do anything with the code. Just go to your Admin panel >> Display >> Templates >> Profile >> profile_add_body template and find this part
    Code:
       <tr>
          <td class="row1"><span class="gen">{L_HIDE_USER} :</span></td>
          <td class="row2">
             <label class="gen"><input type="radio" name="hideonline" value="1" {HIDE_USER_YES} />{L_YES}</label>
             <label class="gen"><input type="radio" name="hideonline" value="0" {HIDE_USER_NO} />{L_NO}</label>
          </td>
       </tr>
    Delete it and click save. Don't forget to publish the template on the green cross.

    All I'm seeing is:

    Templates modified and published
    Templates modified and awaiting

    Neither take me to profile add body and there is no place that says only "templates"

    I well could be missing something, if so please forgive.

    Make sure your AP is in advanced.
    Follow this http://i.imm.io/7aRR.png
    1. Display
    2. Templates
    Under it you'll see profile. Click on it and you'll see the profile_add_body template.
    Edit it and remove the code.

    I think I know the issue. Mine doesn't show the profiles, it stops after smileys and I think it is because while I have moderator rights, I don't have true administrator rights. I lost my password and can't find a solution to get it reset. A whole different set of problems but I'm thinking that's whats happening here. See when I stated my forum I worked at a company and no thinking, used that email address as mine. Now I can't get a new password sent to me because when I changed jobs obviously I can't access that companies email anymore. I tried to get this resolved before but I was told I needed a screenshot of my original application or whatever it's called and really who does that ? Anyway I don't see this getting resolved but I thank you very much for your many attempts.

    Here is the screenshot but we have hit on the biggest problem. I can't log in as the founder until I can get my password reset and I can't provide what I understand is needed to get that done.

    That is what I can't help you with. You can make those changes only from the founders account.

    - Go here if helps. https://help.forumotion.com/t89289-for-founders-who-lost-their-passwords

    - I'm not certain in the infromation but if no one logged to founders account for 6 monhts you are able to change the founder.

    Thank you for all of your help. I may try to get the founder changed but I tried many many times before to get the password reset and was never successful. Again, thank you.
