Username change history.
I think our forums should have a username change history, so that if someone's changes their username, its easier to track down who has been doing what. And an example, if someone has been not following the forum rules, and they change their username to not get caught, the Administrator can see their username history, track them and can just ban the member. ....But what do you think?

Doesn't help if the user is allowed to edit the username themselves.Sanket wrote:We can anyways add in the comment box that.

This couldn't hurt, voted yes.

Think of a forum like this, it would help a lot in keeping track of people.Garland wrote:just dont allow them to change their username, or go ban his IP every post have a button "IP" see his ip and ban him.

Re: Username change history.
I support the idea. I feel it should be okay if every user can view the username change logs. Either that or hold a topic that you update if someone has changed their username. Either way I feel this idea should be implemented.

Re: Username change history.
I only let admins change usernames and only once. And we always post it in a special thread for it. It can get really confusing if members could do it several times even if there was a history.

Re: Username change history.
Unless I'm missing the point here, which is likely possible lol. There's an option to "disallow" users from changing their username.
I'll wait for clarification before i vote .

Re: Username change history.
I think that its better not to allow people to change their usernames and that they must contact an Admin wich will be the person that will change their nick, and write that change into a hidden text field...(just like is setted on the Forumotion Support forums)
Im not going to vote because, from my point of view, this wouldnt be necessary, because this can be done manually.

A History of Changes to Usernames
I know on other forums that when you look at a member's profile there is a button/link to show the history of your changes to your username.
I think this would be a great option for Forumotion forum. I know that this would only work on forums that allow members to change their usernames in their profiles.
