Solved image hosting pop up window gets in the way

Post by poultrymatters Mon 3 Oct - 15:36

When I use the www.webserver.com imaging hosting option from the post screen, a pop up comes up and then I navigate to the picture I wish to upload. Then I upload and get the code options to use in the post.

The problem is that the window box for the image host server doesn't go away and it's over the area where the post is. There's no X or close button. How do you get rid of it so you can continue with writing up your post and see what you're doing?

    Thanks.

I honestly don't know. I thought there might have been a setting somewhere in the Admin Control Panel that controlled the way that pop-ups behaved within the forum, but I couldn't see anything. If you are not away of anything then perhaps it isn't.

www.servimg.com was automatically in the forummotion forum on setup so as it defaulted to that image server I thought it must be recommended by forummotion.

Maybe I've given you the wrong name. I think it's actually https://servimg.com/

The first time I made a post and tried to insert a picture this is what it looked like. There are two picture icons. I gives a field where you can insert the url of a picture and it automatically puts the img code around it for you. The other picture icon is for image hosting. It looks like this and when you click on it a window pops up that already has https://servimg.com/ in there.

This is the window that pops up and doesn't have a minimise or close option. I can't seem to move it on my screen either. The really annoying thing is that once I've clicked on this button I can't get rid of the window. I can actually still press the back button to reload a different page and it will go there, but I think forum members will get snagged on it. That's my problem - the window remaining whether you have used it, don't want it or whatever.

If you click on 'host it' you go to the website. It doesn't actually work to host images until you sign up an account at that site.

I did that and put the serving account email in.

ACP > MISC > Hosting > Image Host

Nowhere does the ACP ask me to put in the website of https://servimg.com/ (that I can find). It just seems to go there automatically. I would have changed it to photobucket if there was a choice because I already use that a lot.

I hope that explains it a bit better. If you want to try it and see if I'm doing it incorrectly, the url is www.poultrymatters.com

Clicking the "Host an Image" button when the pop-up is on the screen will remove the pop-up display. That's true for every button in the editor that displays a pop-up.
