how can i alter the words here ?

Hi all again ,
Can you tell me how to alter the writing as marked, I have been in to " categories and forums" then "the comedy club" but when i go in to modify it doesnt give me a option of altering the words under the comedy club, infact cant even see the words i want to alter,

Hello,
When you modify the forum, you need to click this button how can i alter the words here ? Editer

, at the very bottom of that page and right above the auto pruning thing, you should see a big box labeled "Description." That is where you would be able to change it.

Update: just deleted my last forum that i named "Basket" and that I had made not visible to members, Deleted this as i am getting desperate to find the answer and thought things may have been OK before then, WRONG

not only can i still not alter the description of any of my forums I have , I cant add any not even put my Basket forum back Crying or Very sad

I really dont know what to do now , no one has come to my help here ,My forum was doing really well and people where enjoying it,
Dont know what to do now HELP PLEASE !!

another up date ,
been out got back home and logged on to my forum and the Basket forum i deleted has come back all on its own

But i still can't alter the discription of my forums or add any more confused

Ok I have had the offer of one of the forum of forum mods to have a look at my admin page for me , is this the right way to go ? really need some help and dont want to come across ungrateful , Please help me

Still trying to get to the bottom of this , so had a idea to set up another free forum on here just temporary so i could go in to the admin part to see if i could find some differences, this is the first thing i have come across,

When you click the "general" tab you get this page with Category & forum on it like this ;

how can i alter the words here ? Right

well on my forum i am having the problem with i only get the Category showing like this ;

What forum version are you useing?
It looks like the page is not loading all the way but yet it dose say it's done.

Try useing another browser and see it it comes up then.
I had seen a similar problem with my colors page a long time ago. then i switched browsers and it worked. then it just came back on it's own.
Obviously it was working/there befor because you have a description in there.

So first go and see if you can re-sync the forum, it's the little orange arrows in between (Modify)&(permissions) also try it on another browser.
then if that dont you can try to restore your forum to a time befor this started to occur.. and if all that fails i will have to pass this onto a admin, to see if they can fix or if they have to get a tech to check it.

My apologies for the late reply. we try to get to all the topics and problems we can.some may take a Lil longer then others,in the future if you have post and no one is replying after a couple days or the problem still persist, just pm me or another moderator with the link to the thread.be sure to explain the topic has been open for a couple days and you are still waiting for help.

just tried 2 different browsers no different

tried the re-sync a few times no different

just done a restore to the 22nd October no different (so restored it back)

i will send this thread link to luky to have a look at and see if he can pass it off to typlo or perhaps request a tech. i am stumped on it.. and like i said i had a problem with my display>colors not showing up befor a long time ago.. but have never seen it happen again after the few times that it did happen.

So try to be patient.. oh it's weekend to. techs or typlo do not work on weekends?
but i will still send this off to luky to have a look .he sometimes will pop-in on the weekends.

OK i have sent the message off to luky.
In The mean time i will go to my test forum and try punn out, but it's most likely just something that has to be fixed adjusted by a tech or typlo?

i think typlo means you must have had some kind of corrupt/bad script in one of your category descriptions.

You should get another forum to use as a test forum to try all scripts and things on first.
But either case glad your problem is fixed now Smile
