I have a problem with edit the title of topics !

I try to edit a title of the topic in my forum , but doesn't work ! I tried several times but same result Before work, but this option does not work now

I am having the same problem. A user didn't understand the board's naming conventions, so I switched the order of the person's name. As you can see from the screenshot, the title of the person's post was corrected, but the title of the thread remains incorrect.



Zuzana is the persons first name and should appear first.....

Then it looks like we were talking about different problems -- mine still happens. I guess I should've posted this in its own thread.... Anyway, I just spoke to a moderator on the board and he is having the same problem. We were able to edit posts fine yesterday.

I don't know ! Today I had problems with the forum, but now works very well!

Hopefully this will work itself out. This has even effected the ability to edit the titles of my own posts (those are not working right, either).

I have not done anything Probably was a technique error , but to me it was resolved Wait for an answer to a moderator , I think this error is a bug !

Yes I have the exact same problem! I'm unable to modify topic titles!

Yer def error/bug, as i have spent last cpl of hrs to fix this. As i thought it was due to new Admin member playing. Now i find it isnt anything ro do with them LOL.
Take it, its sit and wait til it is fixed.

Well, I guess there is some comfort knowing that this isn't only occurring on a single board. I hope this is remedied soon -- no offense to the users on my board, but they simply cannot get a grip on naming conventions and are currently making a mess of things.

I just did a tutorial on this for the members of my forum because yep, we are having the same problem.

To solve it, you have to open the "Options" box just below where you are editing your post. You'll see a box that says "Modify Post Title." Type the new title in there. When you hit send, the new modified title will appear as the title header instead of in the body of the post.

It's some extra steps for forum members and I hope they get it solved soon. Neither I, nor any member of my forum for that matter, is tech "savvy" and any extra steps confuses them (us)!

Here's the screen shot I did for them on our forum. I'm sure you guys probably know what I'm talking about when I explain it but we need pictures! So when your editing your topic look right below the box where you are editing. You'll see a bar that says Options (see Star 1). Follow the bar to the end and you'll see a "+" sign (see Star 2). Click on it and the Options box will open. Now you'll see a box that says "Modify Topic's Title" (see Arrow 3). Type your new title in the box and hit "Send" (see Arrow 4). Your new modified title will now appear in the subject of your post instead of the body of your post.

If "bug" is the same thing as "feature" then yes, it is a new "feature!" This option also appears for regular users. I have a test account and tried it out there too.

I don't know why they did it. This exact same thing happened for about last summer too and we all pitched a fit because of the "extra steps" involved. Somehow it went back to normal after about two weeks. I hope that happens again this time!

Okay, now I have NO IDEA how to solve your "60 Character" Limit problem. If I think of something though, I'll pop back in and let you know!

Yeah, I did a Tutorial which I shared as a Global Announcement, put an Announcement at the top of each page saying "hey, this is an issue" and I still have been bombarded with E-mails saying "duh, did you know I can't modify my topic's title?" Yes, I did, thanks for bringing it to my attention. It's getting a bit irritating!
