Pictures changing format.

Hi,I am trying to upload a new banner in the PNG format but it keeps getting converted to JPG,Can you please advice as the jpg format is no good for this picture.Also is there a way to delete [pictures from the root folder....

where are you uploading it? does it change when uploaded to the image host, or when you save it to the site?

When i upload it to the image host,the extension changes from PNG to JPG.

Then you should try with another image hosting site.

Lol....tried it before asking here,[photobucket],it still changed the extension.

it is because it is a portable net graphic, i have been searching google but haven found an answer for you, i will keep looking and if i find a solution i will post it up for you.

is that happening with all .png you are uploading or just this single banner? if its just this banner, have you tried to re-save your picture with your image-editing program?

Yes i have re-saved it and re-uploaded it,re-hosted it 5 times with no luck.
I have managed to sort it out be copy and paste method,pasting directly over it..this,of course does not fix the problem of the sites built in way of doing it as it still converts the image to JPG.
